Go Braves!

This weekend Noah attended his first Braves Game "beeball". What fun! We had such a blast. Noah clapped, cheered and did the Tomahawk Chop as if he had been going all season long. The past few weeks Noah has enjoyed getting into a routine. We are at church Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Noah starts saying church! church!, as we drive into the parking lot. He loves his "teachers" and is soaking up everything like a sponge. God is "Great", God made the "World", I trust in Your "Word", Don't be "wise" in your own "eyes" are some new scriptures and biblical truths that Noah has learned. His bedtime prayers no longer require as much prompting, he is always sure to give thanks to some of his buddies, Grammy, pop pops, Aunt Elana, Grandma, Mommy & Daddy and currently his buddy Tyler gets several shout-outs. It is so sweet to see and I continue to be amazed by how quickly he learns. We are gearing up for Wednesday when Noah and I head to NY (without Daddy) to visit Aunt Elana and see other family and friends.I am sure we will have many adventures to share after our trip to the Big Apple.

Preach it!!

We have been so blessed to have been part of an awesome parenting class/series. The 1st class was a 6 week class facilitated by a couple from our church that we took prior to Noah's arrival. Currently we are taken another 18 week class in the same series called Growing Kids Gods Way.(www.gfi.org for more info). What I love is learning tools and basic principles that help us train Noah's heart.

Noah has learned to "recite" (more like complete) some scriptures and biblicial principles. Such as Love is not "rude", Be courteous to all "men" & God says "obey" right away all the way with a "happy heart". I know that writing these truths on his little heart now will prove to be invaluable as he continues to grow-up. As with anything we do in the areas of discipline, teaching and training Noah ultimately it is his heart we are after. Our prayer that one day he will come to decide that his heart was created to follow God.

18 month well-visit

Today was Noah's 18 month check up. It is amazing how well he remembers the Doctors office. He immediately knew where he was and became increasingly upset as we neared the area where the dreaded shots are given. Overall all went well and Daddy was the go to guy when shot time came. Noah is growing and developing extremely well. Today his weight was 25 1/2 lbs and height is 34 in. His Doc says he is tall and lean!! Just like Daddy!! The best news (especially for mommy) is that today was the last of his shots until his 4th Birthday!!

Even on the days that are hard...

I have a friend who is a great mom who shares her heart with such transperency it encourages me to do the same. (yes Nicole that's you) I think of myself as a "popcorn" Blogger! Posting fun things and short updates and of course cute pictures of my little guy. But as a mom (especially a 1st time mom) there are certainly hard days. Days where I haven't left the walls of my house or talked to another adult, days when I have corrected Noah for the same thing 50+ times, days when 6:30pm (when Phillip normally gets home from work) seems like ages away, days when I can't imagine reading the Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs in Ham (Noah's current favorite books)1 more time, days when Noah thinks that when mommy is the on the phone it means time to whine, days when my VERY sweet boy isn't so sweet! Even of these hard days I am reminded how much God loves me to bless me with an amazing son and an even more amazing husband. It's on these days I remind myself why I have be given the enormous responsibility of being a mom and that God knew what He was doing and blessed me with just what I could handle. I remind myself that ultimately all that matters is training and teaching Noah's heart. A heart that will someday choose to follow God!

A trip to Imagine It - Children's Museum

After returning from the beach we spent the week getting back in our routine and getting organized with all our "activities" for the fall. Today (Saturday 9/1) Noah and I went with the Harkin's Family to the Children's Musuem. Wow! If you live locally and haven't taken your children there we highly recommend it. Noah had a blast. There was sand and paint (some of Noah's favs), and balls, balls everywhere balls (Noah's most favorite). I am a HUGE fan of letting Noah make a mess everywhere he can outside of our home. We are certainly up for another visit soon!

More on Hilton Head

As mentioned a special part of our trip was having Grammy Michele and Aunt Elana spend a few days with us. Since Hilton Head Noah asks for his Aunt Elana several times a day. Noah and his Aunt Elana have a very special relationship and enjoy spending every minute they can together.
