A Beach Bum

We just returned from a week of R&R at the Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort.
We had tons of fun in the sun. Noah swam in the ocean, the pool and the sand. Yes the Sand!. Anywhere and everywhere sand could get he got it there. Some other favorites of Noah was surfing on the buggy board, running on the beach and getting to spend some QT with his Aunt Elana and Grammy Michele. Noah's adventure did not end when the sunset, he has proven to be a lover of the night life as well. Noah did great staying up WAY past his normal bedtime. We have learned that Noah loves to dance, any restaurant or show with live music, look out the Dancing King stands about 2' high and wears diapers!
Will post some pictures from the trip later!

So Big!

Everyday it seems that Noah is doing something new and learning more and more. We have noticed that we need to be cautious of EVERYTHING we say since Noah now repeats EVERYTHING he hears. We have been teaching Noah some simple scriptures and biblical truths as we want to write God's word on his little heart. Some favorites he is saying or at least completing is "Love is not Rude" (Rudah) and God says "Obey" with a Happy "Heart". It is amazing how his little brain can absorb so much so quickly.

Noah has also become more adventurous during our time at the pool. He attempts to jump in the pool, but it is more like a squat and then a lean toward me. He comes to the end holds up is hand and counts 1,2 Free or Wee or Three whatever he decides at that moment. He is so proud of himself giving himself a big clap.

Hazy Hot Days

This week has been HOT HOT HOT!! If we aren't in the pool we are in the air-conditioning. We did take some time during Daddy's Day off (yesterday) for some picture taking.

SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH!

Since living in Georgia I have always had a pool in the neighborhood. On my off days I would pack up my lunch and some magazines and spend the day poolside. From our house you can see the pool from our front window. I am so grateful that Noah enjoys the pool as much as I do. This summer we have spent many days poolside. I still pack a lunch, but instead of the magazines we have "Barnyard Dance" and "Hop on Pop". Noah enjoyes watering the pool deck with his watering can and playing signing and splashing around to soungs like "The Wheels on the Bus" and Ring around the Rosy".

He's a reader

Of course, I can read and do read. Although reading has never been a favorite pass time of mine. I'll flip through any magazine and I can be disciplined to keep up my reading when I am doing a bible study or for our parenting class, but a novel or other book just for fun has never been my thing. I have read to Noah consistently and frequently since he was born, 1-2 books before a nap, books before bedtime and several other times throughout the day. I want Noah to enjoy reading and books (much more than I do). It seems as if the amount of reading and repeating some books that we have done are starting to "pay off". Noah has several favorite books that he can either recite parts of or at least "fill-in" a word when I pause. He can also finish many sentences in some of his "most" favorites like "Barnyard Dance" & "Hop on Pop" and seems to have "God Gave us You" (a book we have read to Noah every night since he was born) somewhat memorized almost as well as Phillip and I do.
It is amazing in just the past few days how much we are seeing more of what he has soaked up the last 17 months!
What a blessing each day is!
