Where did my baby go??

This weekend Noah and I were getting ready to spend a fun day at a fall festival and than a Birthday Party. I was watching him dress himself and just teared up. How is it possible that he is a big boy in jeans and sneakers (that he can put on by himself). If you know me well you know I am grieving the smocked jon jons era. Not only did he get himself ready but he understood the plans for the entire day and kept saying "mom there will be bouncing castles, dancers and crafts right?" How does he know all this. Than he's asking me can he get a special treat like ice cream or chocolate. A year ago he was talking but these full out big kid conversations are so bitter sweet. He laughs when I say things like "you are still Mommy's baby" he'll say "no I am a big boy"

This morning he truly helped me clean the house. He put away all of his clothes and shoes in the correct place,organized all of his books and toys and helped me fold and sort laundry. And while I needed time to do other things around the house he was content playing with playdoh - and no lie as I was all over the house cleaning I could hear him talking to his playdoh and playdoh tools singing clear as a bell "If your Happy and you know it"!

He truly is Happy, while Mommy is grieving that he is no longer a baby but a BIG BOY!

All you new moms (Jen, Summer etc, when they tell you it goes by fast & you don't believe it which I didn't - believe it)

Yes I know the title of the blog is Adventures of Noah but here is some Mommy updates.
Tom'w is the last work-out of my 1st month of bootcamp and Friday is our PT test (timed run, sit-ups, push ups) etc. Yesterday for the 1st time in my 36 years on earth I ran approx 3 1/2 miles (WITH BIG HILLS) and didn't stop to walk. Considering 30 days ago I couldn't run the 1 mile during the PT test without walking. I am so proud of myself and can you believe I wake up at 5 am and I signing up for November too!

Some things to pray about - baby #2 where is he/she I know God knows when so pray that it is soon. My headaches have been BAD! It seems the only time I have zero pain is when I work-out! Which is just more motivation to exercise. Please pray for immediate healing, wisdom & peace & joy in the midst of a "sucky' circumstance.

And yes Noah is his happy, funny, gorgeous self - getting to do so many fun things recently. Seeing Children's Theatre perform Charolettes Web, The pumpkin patch, hayrides, & the Air show! I am tired just thinking about all that fun stuff!

Stay tuned for this years Halloween Costume! Not sure it will top last year, but it was Noah's choice and fits his personality well!

Favorite things and other stuff!!!

I want to remember all of the sweet & funny things that Noah says and does. Everyday I try and remind myself to jot down what he says and does so here is my attempt at some recent favorites.

Last week Noah called me Cara (he is not allowed to do that). We went over again how I am Mommy and that his friends call me Mrs Harper. He now once and awhile especially when I am his teacher at our little school or church calls me Mrs Harper.

He is able to tell me who calls him what nickname he says "Papa call me noodle doodle strudel, Aunt Elana calls me Noni and Tyler call me Noah Boah". He prays for his friends who's Mommy's have babies in their tummies and prays for his baby sister. I pray that God has told him something that Phillip and I don't know yet.

He loves going to the any playground, playing soccer, baseball, and a combo of hockey and softball where he hits his baseballs with hockey sticks.

He loves Chik-Fil-A and MOE'S, strawberries, grapes, string cheese & goldfish and thinks that going to a restaurant is the greatest thing in the world (although I think we have taken him a bit to often).

2 months after our trip to HHI he still is talking about the beach, the dancing, his favorite singer on HII Shannon Taylor, swimming at the pool and playing with his family.

We are headed for another road trip in November different scenery, different climate but we know it will just as fun - We are going to Massachusetts and NY and I have been talking about the Macy's Thanksgiving day Parade. I can't wait to see his face!

I am so grateful to home with Noah to share with him all the fun things and the tough days. But I would NEVER say our 2 1/2 year old has had anything close the the terrible twos.

Pumpkins! Pumpkins! Pumpkins!

Well here in Hotlanta we are hoping for a fall day, but I can't complain since we don't see snow or too many freezing days like back up North. This week we celebrated Fall (even though it was 80+ degrees) with Tyler and baby Owen. We had lunch at MOE's a favorite of Noah's where he can get chips and "white dip" (sour cream) and than headed over to a Pumpkin Patch. (It's really a church that sells pumpkins but what a fun place for some pictures!) It was so sweet watching Tyler and Noah hold Owen and take care of him! How I pray that Noah will soon be a big brother, but for know he has Baby O & Baby Maddux (although I think Maddux is almost Noah's size) to oohh and ahhh over.
Don't worry that's not Ty and Noah fighting it's them playing their favorite game together "Tackle"! And I think I speak for both Shannon and I when I say football would not be our #1 choice of sports for either of them to play, but we just might not have a choice!
